![]() Oh let's see what year was it? 1985?? I don't remember really (I was 9 I think).. It was a long time ago, but I can remember wishing for this thing for Christmas harder than I've wished for anything else in my life, and when my brother and I tore off the wrapping paper.. for that brief moment I remember thinking that my parents were GODS! I can remember getting it hooked up to the TV and being absolutely blown away by the games before me.. yes, back when a game system would come with 2 controllers, 2 games, and a light gun! I remember playing Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and my uncle Joe got us Mike Tyson's Punch Out! (Yeah, that was back when Mike Tyson was a roll model!) This is with out a doubt the fondest childhood memory I have! (kinda sad isn't it?). Over the years I amassed quite the respectable collection of cartridges.. Those were the days.. The NES took the United States by storm.. destroying all competing systems in the blink of an eye, Atari what? Sega Who? Supplying great graphics, great music, and great (but not too ergonomic) control. Back when games weren't mip-mapped, gourad shaded textures, or polygons... When gameplay was all that mattered because that's all there was. Sometimes I miss those days, Now everyone's going for the flashiest graphics and the most polygons but they forget that people are actually going to want to have fun playing them. It could tell the story but still forced you to use your imagination. The NES was the perfect system. Pardon me.. I need a tissue.. <snif>
