![]() What can I say about this system.. Besides that it was the biggest disapointment out of all the consoles I've ever played. That's kinda harsh, But it's true. Nintendo really dropped the ball on this one, being probably the last "Next-Gen" system ever to be cartridge based, if fell short of all expectations. Released well after Sony's Playstation system, it simply didn't out perform or dazzle anyone away from Sony's aging system. Not to say that none of the games are fun, I have wasted much time playing GoldenEye, Mario-64 was pretty fun, F-Zero X is one of the best future racers out there, and Mario Party is always a blast. But that's the problem, I've just named 90% of all the fun games for the system. I just can't bring myself to say more..
UltraHLE The First and best Nintendo 64 emulator to date. The release of this emulator shocked the world, before UltraHLE no one thought that N64 emulation was possible. But one fateful day in 1998 Epsilon and RealityMan proved everyone wrong when, with no prior warning, they dropped this bombshell. After the emulator was released there was a HUGE rush of people attempting to find Nintendo 64 roms, so much so that the authors of the emulator shut thier website down and basically vowed never to update the program. So, here it sits, the one and only release of UltraHLE. Years have passed, and many N64 emulators have come to the scene since then, but none of them I have seen have the Speed and beauty of this aging masterpiece. UltraHLE requires the GLIDE API, which is only available on video cards with 3Dfx VooDoo based chipsets. However there are a few GLIDE "Emulators" (better know as wrappers) around for people not using 3Dfx cards. I use GL2Ideal, which translates GLIDE into OpenGL, because it runs well on NVIDIA based cards and is amazing on my GeForce 2 card. UltraHLE v1.0.0 UltraHLE v1.0.0 Source Code
