Ahh... The Playstation... The system I love to hate..

My distaste for the Playstation has no real foundation, The games are fun, and the hardware has stood the test of time. My hate of the Playstation started with the demise of the Saturn, yes that's right folk, I am such a Sega FanBoy that when the playstation came out to compete with the Saturn I totally turned my back on it. and When the PSX actually won out over the Saturn, I hated it even more. I never bought one of these God forsaken systems until very recently (and even then it was off of E-bay to be sure that Sony never got a dime from my pocket). But, now that I have one, it's not too bad. I use it to play the Lunar remakes, Castlevania: SOTN, and of course, all the imported Dance Dance Revolution games I can get my hands on. :)

The Playstation came out in 1995, It was Sony's first game console, and we can blame it all on Nintendo. That's right. The Playstation was originally designed as a CD add-on to the Super Nintendo. After the Sega-CD failed, the big "N" pulled the plug in the SNES-CD and Sony, not wanting to lose any of the time and money paid in development, turned it into a stand alone system. Go Figure..

ePSXe

Here I am switching off emulators at the last minute.. First Bleem! was going to go here, but I have been having second thoughts because of the year or so since a release has come out. Then I was thinking Virtual Game Station, but did I really want to BUY another PSX emulator just to have it go south like Bleem!? Then ePSXe came out, normally I ignore a lot of "up and coming" PSX emulators as they tend to become vaporware. After further investigation I found that it used the PSEmu Pro plug-in system and _Demo_ (from the ZSNES project) was on the coding team, so I gave it a shot. And I love it.. The compatibility has surpassed Bleem! and when a game is playable.. it's PLAYABLE. And I know that this emulator will be updated more than once a year. It's only downfall is that is requires a copy of the original Playstation BIOS (which I won't provide because Sony likes lawsuits).

PSX BIOS Images

What? Do you think I'm crazy? There is no way in hell I'm going to put these BIOS images on my page. I'll put the SEGA ones up cause they are old and SEGA doesn't seem to care about 32-X and SEGA-CD Images anymore.. But Sony.. well.. Sony likes lawyers.. So I'll give you a link to someplace that might help.. Have fun..
