Well.. I'm not sure if it matters.. January 5, 2009 - 2:29PM EST

Just for old times, I went through and updated all of the emulators on the site (except for the N64). As for what has actually changed in all of these emulators.. who knows. I'm sure its a lot, way too much to list here anyway.

The biggest surprise? A new version of the Playstation emulator, ePSXe. I though development on that was dead a LONG time ago.
The update I'm happiest about? Is a new version of the Sega Genesis emulator, Kega Fusion. Steve finally put out an update just last month, making it the first update in almost 3 years. I guess I can kind of sympathize with that. =]

Has it really been 3 years? January 5, 2009 - 11:56AM EST

Where the hell does all the time go, and why does it have to go there so fast?

Now serving MagicEngine 1.0 PR 10 November 1, 2005 - 1:29PM EST

Looks like we've missed some action over in the MagicEngine camp. Preview Release 10 has finally made it to my server. This was dropped way back in April, and hasn't been updated since. Seems like all the attention at camp MagicEngine has been focused on their new PC-FX emulator, which makes me sad. The least they could do is get a non-PR release of MagicEngine out before devoting so much time to a new emulator. But I guess it is probably more exciting to work on something new than it is to work on something you've been cranking away on for years. Once again, I've deamed the list of changes too large to post, so you'll just have to check out the readme.txt yourself.

Feed upon the latest verson of MagicEngine from the TurboGrafx-16 section, then don't go swimming for 30 minutes or you'll get cramps.

Nebula 2.25 has emerged November 1, 2005 - 12:57PM EST

ElSemi released a new version of his stellar Neo-Geo/CPS2 emulator Nebula a couple months ago. Doesn't look like a major release, more like a maintenance update really. Biggest item seems to be support for the "Knights of Valour 2" games, which required emulation of an in-cartridge CPU. Still, it is good to see some progress being made.

Procure the latest verson of Nebula from the Neo-Geo section, then try not to hate yourself in the morning.

Stella 2.0.1 now available November 1, 2005 - 12:28PM EST

Damn, you know it's been a long time since I posted when a new version of Stella gets released. The favored Atari 2600 emulator has actually had a few major releases recently. Changes are numerous, but one of the most obvious is the new user interface for Windows users (seems to have borrowed it's design from SCUMMVM). Anyway, its still a very welcome addition.

Acquire the latest verson of Stella from the Atari 2600 section, just remember to wash your hands before you eat it.

Kega Fusion 3.4 released November 1, 2005 - 11:54AM EST

Keeping with the Arcadezone tradition for timely updates, I present to you, the latest version of Kega Fusion. I'm not going to go into any changes or new features, as the list would be unbearably long. I mean look at the date on the last post for fuck sake.

Obtain the latest verson of Kega Fusion from the Sega Genesis section, but don't tell your Mom where you got it.

Kega Fusion 3.11 released February 22, 2005 - 10:54AM EST

Looks like Steve's found just enough free time lately to crank out like 3 new version of Kega Fusion. Quite a few new features, completely rewritten sound core, support for more than 8 rendering plugins, and something I thought I'd never see in Kega, ISO-MP3 support.

Check out a full list of changes in the Emulation News section.
Inherit the latest verson of Kega Fusion from the Sega Genesis section, then squander it away on loose women and cheap beer.

Stella 1.4.1 posted February 14, 2005 - 12:49PM EST

The Atari 2600 page has finally been updated, ohh, after something like 4 years. The latest version of Stella is now up and waiting to be downloaded. Quite a few changes since the last posted version, including support for DPC sound emulation, so all those Pitfall II fans can marvel at the amazing background music.

Gank the latest verson of Stella from the Atari 2600 section.

ZSNES 1.42 released February 8, 2005 - 12:14PM EST

After all of the posted WIP builds of ZSNES (link removed because thier homepage attempts to install Spyware/Malware/Adware) there has finally been a few official releases, the latest of which is 1.42. I'm so far behind in posting what's new with emulators I'm not going to try here. We'll just leave it at, it's new, and it's got fixed stuff.

Nab the latest verson of ZSNES from the Super Nintendo section.

MagicEngine 1.0 Preview Release 8! February 8, 2005 - 11:22AM EST

The boys working on MagicEngine have released 8 preview releases of the new version 1.0. The changes to previous 0.9.9 releases are far too numerous to list. Version 1.00 is a complete re-write of the entire emulator. Everything has changed, so if you are into TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine emulation at all, you need to download this. For those of you that have registered previous version of MagicEngine, fear not, your registration key from the old version will work just fine with the new version.

Retrive the latest verson of MagicEngine from the TurboGrafx-16 section.

FCE Ultra 0.98.12 finally posted February 8, 2005 - 10:50AM EST

Well, some good new and some bad news. The good news, I've finally posted the latest stable release of FCE Ultra in the NES section, so make sure to go get it. The bad news, Xod has finally made good on the threats he started posting almost a year ago and has completely discontinued his work on FCE Ultra. Clicking on the link above that once took you to the FCE Ultra homepage now takes you to a completely blank directory. Luckily for us FCE Ultra is in such good shape currently that I should be able to keep FCE Ultra around as the best NES emulator for quite some time. But I'm still keeping my eye on a few other NES emulators out there, and if by chance they best FCE Ultra, I'll be sure to post them.
