Semi-Update
December 26, 2000 - 11:24AM EST

Well, first off I hope that the holidays have been good for everyone.. Second, this is going to be one of the last crippled update hopefully, I should have the site up and running to it's normal form so I can get the other sections updated. Little bit of news coming here:

The wonderful authors of ZSNES released version 1.17 for Christmas. Seems a few games are fixed, some out of sync problems in net play are resolved and they add a feature. A nice "slow motion" key to help out when the action gets too intense. How thoughtful!

Magic Engine, the TG-16/PC-Engine emulator for windows also released version 0.98 of there software, adding Arcade System Card support. Not really a feature that I noticed was missing but then again, I don't use the CD-ROM feature of this emulator much.

The Sega Genesis emulator GENS released 2 new versions last week and is now up to Version 0.92b. The some of the changes include, Better sound support, Roms loaded history, emulated DMA timings and a large collection of fixed games. Not to mention a nifty new Icon for the GENS executable.

I have been on the look out for a new Gameboyemulator. Right now my eyes are watching the emulators DreamGBC and YAME neither of which are up to the level that REW is yet. But they are constantly updated. DreamGBC seems to be updated almost twice a week since it's release. YAME is another TG-16/NES/Gameboy emulator, and isn't quite as advanced as DreamGBC. But we'll see how things work out.

Pete is a Plugin Making machine! Updating all his GPU plugins for ePSXe to Version 1.42, adding a couple new feature including a Scanline option as well as the normal tiny bug fixes. Check them out they are well worth it.

Well, that's about it.. I'm off to pick up the keys to my new house! Weeee. Remember that none of the sections other than the main page have been updated. So you'll have to use all the links here to update your emulators. Next time I see you guys, I'll be in my new house!!

Lack of updates.
December 14, 2000 - 8:22PM EST

Things have been a little tight for me in the real world lately. The server that hosts my sight was hacked and Security had to be tightened.. In the process of doing so some things were broken (like FTP access) which make it hard to update my site. Not too much has been happening in the emulation world.

A new version of ePSXe was released 1.0.1, which kicks ass, you'll have to download it from thier site cause I can't get the file to mine.

Pete released another new version of all his (now) ePSXe plugins. You can get them from the link in the last update.

And me.. I should be moving in to my new house in a week or so, then I'll be hosting my own web site though my nifty new DSL line.. and updates will flow like water.. or at least as often as they did before. Until then.. Stay tuned..

New Plugin's From Pete.
November 18, 2000 - 12:02PM EST

Looks like Pete updated all of his GPU plugin's for PSEmu Pro. Not that we use them for PSEmu Pro anymore, since that project has been discontinued. However they work with newer, better Playstation Emulators like ePSXe, which if you haven't heard is the most recent, and most promising first release emulator ever. You can download the plugins from Pete's Page and you can get a copy of the emulator from ePSXe or from my PSX section.

New AGES screenshots.
November 15, 2000 - 9:36PM EST

Quinntesson threw up 5 new gameplay screenshots of his work in progess Sega-CD/Genesis/32-X Emulator AGES. Looks like we'll all be in for a treat! Unfortunately the Lunar Series isn't playable. Which kinda sucks since those are my absolute favorite Sega-CD games. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!

ZSNES on a roll..
November 15, 2000 - 9:16PM EST

Looks like the ZSNES staff have been a little code happy lately. They released another new version with a relatively short list of bug fixes. Check out what's new on the Emulation News page or just grab a download at the Super Nintendo page.

ZSNES 1.11 r72 Released
November 13, 2000 - 7:03PM EST

Where have I been for like 2 weeks.. Not on this planet obviously.. Anyway, 2 day ago or so a new version of
ZSNES was released which features the wonderfully impressive inclusion of NETPLAY! yes that's right, play StreetFighter 2 against people in Uganda if you choose! Then, they released another version today with a few fixes and announced that shortly, after netplay is working to it's fullest ZSNES will go OPEN SOURCE! That's right, all you ASM coders out there get to take a look at the internal workings of the mightiest SNES emulator out.. (I know there is someone out there that can get Pilotwings to work!) Anyway, you can check out what's new on the Emulation News page or just grab a download at the Super Nintendo page.

GENS v0.88 Released!
October 24, 2000 - 12:54PM EST

Looks like a new version of the Sega Genesis Emulator GENS slipped out yesterday and I missed it.. But in an attempt to make it up to you fine people I've made it available for download on the Genesis page.

To see a list of changes please check the Emulation News Section.

A Second Sega-CD Emulator? Not Just Yet.
October 23, 2000 - 3:56PM EST

It appears that Tim Meekins, author of the Genesis/32-X emulator GENSx, has looked at the results from a recent poll that he posted about new features we want in his emulator. Guess what won, Yup Sega-CD emulation. Looks like we might actually see work started on it beginning next year as he states that he'll be pretty busy working on some Dreamcast game projects such as NFL2K1 & NBA2K1. (Talk about a busy guy) Might turn into an interesting race between AGES and GENSx, although AGES seems to have a hefty head start.

More Sega-CD Emulator Info
October 17, 2000 - 6:54PM EST

I had a nice little virtual conversation with Quinntesson, author of the Sega-CD/32-X/Genesis emulator AGES asking a few questions about the recently release emulation marvel. Seems to be a pretty nice person, didn't even seem to have a problem answering my insignificant questions.. :) Check the Emulation News to see what was said.

Can't Stop.. Must Quit Typing..
October 15, 2000 - 11:45PM EST

Okay.. Started out by testing ePSXe, the latest Playstation Emulator... I couldn't stop playing.. This emulator just about has Bleem! in its grave and it's only the first publicly released version. I had to put up some screenshots and make it available for download. So, the Playstation (PSX on the left menu) page was born, but not finished. It's about to the point where the Nintendo NES page is. But I should be finishing the rest of them out by the end of the week, so keep your pantyhose on..

Speechless....
October 15, 2000 - 1:40PM EST

I couldn't believe my eyes.. Not even a little.. The One time Genesis/32-X emulator AGES just broke all the rules.. It is now the Genesis/32-X/SEGA CD emulator! That's right folks, someone actually figured it out.. don't believe? Check the screenshots out. I'm in the process of testing this emulator out to see just what I can do.. well.. provided I can find any of my old SEGA CD games.. (Digs into the closet) The BIOS screens come up just fine though. You can probably expect a new emulation page to come out in a little while based on this emulator. And yes.. I'll probably have the BIOS files you'll need there.. There is still one problem that still plagues this emulator, one of the major problems that made me not use it for 32-X emulation.. No Sound.. that's right, not a single digitized note, Nothing. Perhaps this will change in future release, one can only hope.

Check out the Emulation News Section to see what else is new in this release of AGES
Feel free to Download a copy of AGES 0.22a for yourself. Be sure to read the AGES.TXT file to get an idea of how to set everything up.

More TurboGrafx goodness!
October 14, 2000 - 11:09PM EST

In the wake of the latest MagicEngine release I finished the TurboGrafx/PC-Engine page! I've been asked twice so far why I put PC-Engine on the menu to the left.. Well because with the font I used TurboGrafx was just like 5 pixels too long. Maybe later I'll actually go fix it instead of taking the easy way out. :)

N64, Nintendo, TurboGrafx, Oh My..
October 14, 2000 - 8:47PM EST

Something funny is happening over at www.ultrahle.com I'm not too sure what it is, or what it means. But I have a feeling that we'll all find out soon enough. :)

Here's the deal, The Nintendo Page is up.. Sort of, there isn't a little historical description up, but all of the other info is there.

The authors of the wonderful TurboGrafx 16/PC-Engine emulator Magic Engine have released the 3rd beta for the next version of their software. Check out the Emulation News section for more details, or just download the latest version.

Another Emulation Section added
October 2, 2000 - 2:25AM EST

Okay, so I couldn't sleep.. got to working on another emulation section.. As a result the GameBoy section is now open for browsing. The NES section was going to be next but I got tired of looking for a decent picture to use in the title image. Maybe tomorrow I'll find something worthy.

Update Delayed.
September 17, 2000 - 2:24PM EST

Quick little update here.. A friend and I took a rather spontaneous trip to Chicago for the weekend.. My weekly Emulator section addition was put on hold.. Fret not.. It will be up as soon as I get home.. :)

The Nintendo64 Section was going to be finished tonight as well, however since the news of the untimely demise of UltraHLE has surfaced, I am evaluating new N64 emulators. It should be up soon though.

UltraHLE Project Terminated
September 10, 2000 - 9:40AM EST

I'd like to pause for a moment of silence to pay respects to the emulator that once was UltraHLE. RealityMan, author of the project has decided that he no long has the patience to put up with heckling from people who don't even know him, and other such problems. Hence he has decided to remove all source code, roms, and documentation from his computer. This is truly a sad turn of events, The emulator that proved Nintendo 64 emulation was possible is gone forever.

Check out the Emulation News for the full e-mail from RealityMan explaining his situation.

Special thanks to VintageGaming for the news.

What the Five?!?!
August 20, 2000 - 9:16PM EST

This is Whoop..

Okay I never have much to update about my arcade machines, so I'm adding EMULATOR coverage.. Now, don't expect anything like Zophar's Domain or Vintage Gaming. But there will be some content in here.. Actually, I'm only going to cover emulators that I use. Oh, and they are only console emulators.

*SmAcK*

What was that for?!?! let me explain myself before you go kicking my ass. I used to like all the arcade emulators, I really did.. Until I just started buying the boards instead of emulating them. :) I love to play them in the cabinets, with real joysticks and buttons. Consoles however were made to be played in front of a TV (monitor) with a game-pad, so I like to play them on the computer. So there! It's here to stay.

So even if you don't like it's completely separate from the arcade stuff via the NEW MENU SYSTEM! Check it, auto resizing and clicking drop downs using my nifty HTML menu stuff from my jukebox. I love it. You should too..

Not all of the new areas are up yet.. so hang with me.. they will start appearing rapidly over the next week.. Stay Tuned..

Here We Go Again!
August 10, 2000 - 10:15PM EST

Okay, I guess I'm just on an update kick again. Been working on the page quite a bit (well compared to my usual speed).

I updated the Projects page for the first time in eons, Added enough images to drastically increase load times. However this has been taken care of just like the Tech Tips section... Yup... More sub-menus. Like `em or not, they're here for your benefit.

Guess that's about it.. I fixed an explanation here and an explanation there in the Quad-Jamma Guide page. Nothing serious, just a little clearer on how to wire the switchbox now.

Well, time to get back to playing The Sims. We'll see how long it takes me to update again... Who knows, the night is still young. :)

You ever notice?
August 8, 2000 - 5:24PM EST

I tend to update this page with excuses about not working on my arcade machines. I haven't been able to figure out why I do this, like I have some kind of contractual obligation to update this site with useful information.
I need to remind myself that this is just a hobby, something I do when I can get the chance, something I do for fun. Okay.. Enough of that..

Well, looks like the Dragon Spirit deal fell though, crushed my heart and soul. That's the closest I have ever been to holding one of those board in my hands and it didn't happen. Crushed is probably inappropriate, more like devastated. Not only was I going to own it but I was going to get it at an EXTREMELY good price.. *sigh*

Can anyone out there help my suffering and sell me a Dragon Spirit board for $160 or less?

Updated the CPS2 FAQ again to include some information on the CPS-2 5-year Suicide problem, let me know what you think.

Whatever...
June 2, 2000 - 11:28AM EST

You know the first thing I'm going to do is put a random link to a webpage in here.

Penny Arcade

Then I guess I'll say something about getting Konami's Contra board and having Namco's Dragon Spirit on the way. Blah Blah Blah..

Made an extreme update to the CPS2 FAQ.. Some extra games to the list, and pinout information. Nothing too important, well, unless you're looking for CPS2 info. Ever think it's funny that I have a CPS2 Faq but don't have a CPS2 system.

The Wishlist has been updated with the formentioned games being removed from the list.

The For Sale page has been updaed with the one game I want to get rid of.

Gyruss is still at the top of that list, funny how no one ever wants to part with a board for Gyruss and want less than 200 bucks for it. Which as we all know is way too much.. I don't think I'd be willing to pay more than about $80 or $90 for it.

Then I'll stick something in here about Changing TFC Clans, from TNP to SOL.

Yup Yup..

Okay.. An actual arcade stuff update
January 11, 2000 - 11:43PM EST

Check this out.. Over the past month I gutted both my machines. Yeah, big undertaking. All of the wiring has been redone and the Quad-Jamma is no more. I have a ton of picture that I want to put up, probably in the projects section. It's just so pretty inside my cases. I actually took the time to make all of the Jamma+ connectors for TNMT, Vendetta and Mortal Kombat 2. That was a big step for me (sad, I know).

But I tell you one thing, if I have to soilder one more fricken Molex pin, I'll have to kill something. Those things suck, totally.

Other news - I have recently been kicking ass in the virtual world, I started playing the Team-Fortress Classic addon to the PC game Half-Life.What a trip this game is. It's wild! After like 2 or 3 weeks of play I was good enough to join a Clan (similar to a pro-sports team) and the Clan I joined was ranked 6th in the world last week. Wow. Anyway, the Clan is [-TNP-]. Check it out.

Tell me how much I suck! Niobium
