The Quad-Jamma Connector
This was the best idea in the world.. A PC board ectched to hold 4 jamma edge connectors and switched with a 4-way printer switch. The only problem that we ran into was we didn't know if it was going to work.. We used diodes to separate all of the switches (joysticks, coin slots, etc, etc.) Took well over 100 of those freakin' little things.. But, after fighting with the etching solution and almost ruining the board in the process.. But it actually worked and works well..

Addendum: I opted to ditch the idea though, some games (like Mortal Kombat 2) seemed to be flaky in the QJC. It was probably a loose connection or a bad slot, so I just scrapped the project because I really didn't use it that much and I didn't have the time to diagnose the thing. However if you are interested in building your own check out my Quad Jamma Guide in the Technical Tips section.
